You may also need to have special graphic images made, or photographs, sound or video incorporated into the site.
The design and construction costs can be zero if you learn HTML programming yourself. In ten to fifteen years, it will probably be as common as using a word processor is to-day.
The alternative is to get someone who has the time, the design flair, marketing knowledge and computer programming skills to do it for you.
Like original artwork, these costs will also vary with the scale and complexity of the site you require, so we prefer to give a price for your specific needs.
The following should only be considered approximate.
At the lower end, you can probably find someone that will simply fabricate a page with limited features ready for uploading to your Webspace for around £20 if that is all you want. We do not offer this service.
You will see prices for making up a straightforward one-off web page without much customising or embellishment from around £50 at the present time, although this is generally not likely to include costs of establishing the page in the Webspace and providing training to get you going and so on.
If you are having some original graphics created for your site, then prices from £180 to £250 per page are quite normal. Prices which include all the work to upload and test, register with search engines and provide on-site "get you going" training on how to surf the web and use email may be a little higher.
Our inclusive charge for a quality one page typical site would be around £210.
A ten page site will probably be between £900 and £3,000 depending on the content, complexity, and choice of designer. It could be £6000 or more if original sound or video is included in the price.
Here again there will be variations depending on whether the price includes a lot of photographs and artwork, uploading, testing, registering with the search engines, on-site training, and post sales support.
Our charge for a quality ten page typical site would be around £1,600
As size increases, generalisations become even more difficult, but for a 40 page site designed by us, you might expect to pay something in the order of £5,300.
For a large site of say, 200 pages our charge might be around £15,000
We don't make "template" sites where we have a stock of ready made pages and simply put your name at the top and your details in the text. Each site is tailored specifically to your business or organisational identity, with individual, colour co-ordinated graphics in a design made specifially for you. With us, your site is made-to-measure, not off-the-peg.
You can have a small site originally and add to it as the need arises. In fact, we think this is the best way to begin, because visitor feedback will ensure you develop your site to include what your users want to see.
